About Me
I’ve always been fascinated by learning, understanding how things work, why they work, and discovering better ways to explain them.
Growing up, I never imagined that I would become a teacher. It simply wasn’t something I had planned.
Then, almost by accident, I had the opportunity to teach. I immediately discovered how much I enjoyed sharing what I knew with others.
I loved the challenge of finding new ways to explain difficult ideas, watching concepts suddenly click, and connecting with people through the learning process.
What began as an unexpected opportunity gradually became a passion, then a career, and eventually my own business.
To me, great teaching is about far more than delivering information. It’s about sharing curiosity, enthusiasm, and confidence.
While not every student will fall in love with every subject, every subject has the potential to move someone closer to their goals, whether that’s earning a better grade, gaining admission to college, or opening the door to a future career.
My job is to help students see that connection while making challenging ideas feel approachable.
Throughout my career, I’ve been driven by a simple question: “Is there a better way to explain this?”
Textbooks and traditional instruction don’t always present concepts in the clearest or most intuitive way.
I enjoy breaking complicated ideas into simpler, more meaningful steps and continually refining my explanations based on what helps students learn most effectively.
In many ways, teaching is a creative process, one that constantly challenges me to communicate more clearly, think differently, and innovate.
Over the years, my passion for teaching has only grown stronger.
Every student brings new questions, new perspectives, and new opportunities to improve as an educator.
I feel incredibly fortunate to have built a career around something I genuinely enjoy, and I’m excited to continue helping students grow in confidence, develop their skills, and discover that learning can be both rewarding and enjoyable.
Teaching Philosophy
Every student learns differently. There isn’t one explanation, one lesson plan, or one teaching style that works for everyone.
My job is to discover how each student thinks, where they’re getting stuck, and what explanation will help everything click. That begins with listening.
I pay close attention to how students describe a problem, the mistakes they make, the questions they ask, and even the words they use. Those clues help me understand how they’re thinking so I can adjust my teaching to fit them rather than expecting them to fit a single method.
Learning should also be engaging. Some students already love the subject they’re studying, while others approach it with frustration. Those students need something different.
Sometimes that means connecting the material to real-life goals. Sometimes it means making lessons more interactive and enjoyable. Sometimes it simply means helping a student experience the satisfaction of finally understanding something that once seemed impossible.
I also believe teaching is a creative process. Throughout more than fifteen years of teaching, I’ve continually asked myself: “Is there a better way to explain this?”
I’ve experimented with countless resources, activities, diagrams, demonstrations, technologies and teaching strategies. Every student teaches me something new.
Most importantly, I believe learning is personal. Students learn best when they feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes and working collaboratively with someone who genuinely cares about their success.
My goal isn’t simply to help students earn higher grades or test scores. It’s to help them become more confident learners who understand not only what they’re doing, but why they’re doing it.
